JOLAKS Ltd Achieves ISO 22000 Certification, Elevating Food Safety Standards in Sierra Leone

Sierra Leone, Freetown, October 2024 – JOLAKS Ltd has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first company in Sierra Leone to be awarded the ISO 22000 certification for its Food Safety Management System. This significant accomplishment was made possible through the European Union & UNIDO-funded project.

The rigorous certification process entailed extensive gap assessments, capacity building, and continuous coaching to ensure JOLAKS Ltd met international food safety standards. Additionally, the company trained and developed 22 internal auditors dedicated to maintaining and enhancing its food safety management practices. With the ISO 22000 certification now in hand, JOLAKS Ltd is strategically positioned to broaden its market reach, including exporting products to the European Union by adhering to stringent regulatory requirements.
